New Year's Eve has always been a time for looking back to the past, and more importantly, forward to the coming year.
Dan saat yang tepat untuk bikin resolusi. In my case: to quit smoking!
Kenapa harus nunggu tahun baru? Menurut pengalaman dari tahun-tahun sebelumnya, memang lebih mudah memulai resolusi di pagi 1 Januari - habis begadang semalaman, sehingga mau merokok pun, mulut terasa pahit :-).
Seriously, below are the Top 9 New Year's Resolution for you to apply (by Albrecht Powell). You may use all, or not at all.
1. Spend More Time with Family and Friends.
Here is my idea how to balance it. Play more golf with friends and spend more time with family. Habis golf, janjian dengan istri di Felice Jewellery dan ajak anak2 makan dan nonton (hahaha...sorry, agak golf-minded).
2. Go to the Gym More Regularly
Regular exercise has been associated with more health benefits than anything else known to man. Studies show that it reduces the risk of some cancers, increases longevity, helps achieve and maintain weight loss, enhances mood, lowers blood pressure, and even improves arthritis. In short, exercise keeps you healthy and makes you look and feel better.
3. Diet, Kurangi Carbohydrate
Do the no.2 and combine it with 'less carb diet'. Dijamin keren. In my case: eat beras merah.
4. Quit Smoking.
Tiap tahun saya bikin 'berhenti merokok' sebagai resolusi dan selalu gagal......:-(
Sore ini di pintu kamar mandi utama, Shinta (my wife) nempel tulisan: "Ayah, berenti merokok ya....Biar tetap sehat sampai anak2 graduate, menikah dan nimang2 cucu. Katanya sesudah itu kita mau jalan2 bareng kemana aja enjoying life...?"
5. Enjoy Life More
Balance your body, mind and soul. Or just get out and try something new!
Instead of meeting your beloved ones in the mall, go to museum.
6. Lunasi Hutang atau Bayar Credit Card in Full
Mari hidup lebih hemat. Tahun 2010 bikin tukang kartu kredit pada sebel. Mereka 'benci' banget sama gue, karena seluruh tagihan selalu kami bayar full. Pokoknya, mereka gak dapet untung dari bunganya yang selangit deh, punya member kayak gue.
7. Learn Something New
Perhaps you are considering a career change, want to learn a new language, or just how to fix your computer? Whether you take a course or read a book, you'll find education to be one of the easiest, most motivating New Year's resolutions to keep.
8. Help Others
Join yayasan sosial, ikut charity tournaments. Ambil anak asuh. Sisihkan duit dan sempetin mampir ke panti asuhan. You will feel good and look good. Orang yang pemurah, sering
9. Get Organized
Dari dulu pengen beresin rumah, ruangan di kantor, gak sempet. Beresin file di komputer. Keluar dari grup BB yang menuh-menuhin space (too much unimportant info). Minggu pertama Januari, ketika masih banyak yang cuti adalah saat yang tepat untuk mulai rapih2.
